This stunning Pendant & Earring Set are made from Israel ½ shekel coins minted from 1980 to 1985. The Israeli designer of this coin says it’s the Lion of Megiddo, others know it as the Roaring Lion Coin. As a Christian, I think of this as The Lion of the Tribe of Judah mentioned in the book of Revelation. The Israel Mint describes the coin as a Lion and the Emblem of the State of Israel. The Lion first appeared on the Seal of Shema, slave of Jeroboam, from the period of the Kingdom of Israel dating 8 BC.
The coin is no longer used as Israeli currency and has been a sought after collector's coin. Personally, I think it makes a beautiful pendant that both Men & Woman would like in their jewelry collection.
The pendant is 20mm in diameter by 1.34mm thick with a reeded edge. It's made out of Cupronickel and has the appearance of silver. Israel can be found on the face of this coin in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. After the design is cut out, Israel in Hebrew remains under the Lion. Then it’s polished and it remains in its original finish.
Please Note: The Pendant has a Floating Menorah attached to the rim of the coin beneath the Lion. The Pendant comes with a 18 inch stainless steel chain & lobster claw clasp with a 2 inch extension. The earrings have stainless steel findings, such as hoops, chain and jump rings.
